Continuing Education Offered at Educational Programs and Events

The Tennessee Public Health Association offers continuing education credit to members at no extra cost.  CE credit is available to nonmembers for a fee.

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)

Tennessee Public Health Association provides nursing contact hours at educational meetings and conferences through The University of Tennessee, College of Nursing.  The University of Tennessee, College of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The 2021 Annual Conference provides a total of 14 CNEs.

Certified Health Education Specialist, CHES and MCHES

Virtual Annual Conference, A Series of Webinars on Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1, 2021*

To request CHES or MCHES contact hours, fill out the online request form.  Credits submitted by Thursday, October 14 will be sent to NCHEC on October 15th for processing.

Eligible CHES sessions (13 hours). 
Eligible Advanced MCHES sessions (8 hours - Workshops 1,2,4,5,7,8,9,10).

  • Friday, 10/1 - Plenary 3, Workshops 9,10

Sponsored by the Tennessee Public Health Association, designated multi event provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in MCHES or CHES, these webinars provide 1.0 contact hour each for a total of 13.0 CHES and 8.0 Advanced MCHES through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC). 

*Recordings of sessions may be viewed to earn CEUs up to one year after the session. Credits submitted after October 14th will be submitted to NCHEC quarterly on January 15, April 15, July 15.

Certified in Public Health (CPH) Recertification Credit 

The 2021 Annual Conference was approved for Certified in Public Health (CPH) continuing education credits by the University of Memphis School of Public Health, an approved provider by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.  Up to 16 CPH Recertification Credits may be earned at this event.

Environmental Health

Pharmacy

Approval of continuing education contact hours for pharmacists for the 2021 Annual Conference is pending.  The CE Request Form for Pharmacy can be downloaded here.

Physicians

The American Academy of Family Physicians has reviewed the 2021 TPHA Annual Conference and deemed it acceptable for up to 14 Online Only, Live AAFP Prescribed credit.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  The CME Request Form for Physicians can be downloaded here.
